What are the licensing options for this design?
My designs are available for Personal, Commercial Non-Exclusive, Extended Commercial Non-Exclusive and Commercial Exclusive Licensing.
What does Personal, Non - Exclusive Use licensing allow?
YOU CAN
- You can use my design for personal and commercial projects.
- You can use my design on physical finished products for sale, with a maximum of 500 units per finished product.
- You can use my design for wallpaper and fabric production, up to 1,000 metres in total.
- You can adapt, resize, recolour or recompose my design to suit your finished product requirements.
- You can use the licensed design on your business website, portfolio and social media in connection with the licensed products.
- The licence can be agreed for 1 year, 2 years or permanently, depending on your project requirements.
- I retain all copyright and ownership of the original artwork, and the same design may be licensed to other clients.
YOU CAN'T
• You can't resell my pattern design, or any of its elements or parts, modified or unmodified, as a digital end product.
• You can't use my design on POD (Print on Demand) sites, such as Spoonflower, Redbubble, or similar platforms.
• You can't resell, sublicense, redistribute or share the source file with a third party in any way that allows others to download, extract or redistribute the pattern or any of its parts.
• You can't trademark my designs or claim copyright over the patterns as a whole or any part of the designs.
• You can't use the design for any purpose that is not expressly permitted under the agreed licence terms.
What does Exclusive Use licensing allow?
An Exclusive Use License allows you to be the only brand permitted to use a specific design within your industry, protecting your product line from competitors. Under this agreement, you are allowed to:
• Block Competitors: You gain the peace of mind that no other brand in your market sector will launch a product using the exact same design.
• Define Your Scope: You can choose the geographic territory (e.g., UK, EU, or Worldwide) and the specific product category (vertical) where you want total exclusivity. For example, if you secure exclusive rights for wallpaper, I will not license it to any other home-decor brand, though I retain the right to license it for unrelated products like apparel.
• Customize the Design: You are fully permitted to adapt, resize, recolour, or recompose the pattern to suit your manufacturing needs and finished products perfectly.
• Enjoy Secure Timelines: You get sole use of the design for an agreed-upon contract period (typically 2+ years), giving your flagship product lines a dedicated market window.
Please note: I retain the full copyright and ultimate ownership of the artwork. You are purchasing the exclusive right to use it.
Q: Can I buy an Exclusive License for a design currently listed on Spoonflower or other POD sites?
A: Yes. Many of my designs are launched on Print-on-Demand (POD) platforms to test their market popularity. The moment you purchase an Exclusive License, I will immediately withdraw the design from sale across all public POD platforms (such as Spoonflower, Redbubble, and Society6) within 48 hours to protect your exclusivity.
(Note: Because the design was previously public, minor historical consumer purchases may exist in the market prior to your commercial launch date.)
Q: What happens to the design on your website after I buy it exclusively?
A: To protect your investment, the design preview will be updated to "Licensed" or removed from my public commercial catalog entirely so that no other businesses can enquire about it.
